Cocker Spaniels

The American Spaniel Club (“ASC”) I can not stress enough how much you will learn and find to enjoy if you become well acquainted with The American Spaniel Club, Inc., whether you rescue an older dog or buy a puppy with the intentions to compete with it. The American Spaniel Club, Inc., is the parent club for the Cocker Spaniel. It is also a dedicated supporter of all Flushing Spaniel breeds.

On the ASC site, you will learn all about Cocker Spaniels, their Standard (what they’re supposed to look like), health issues, how to find breeders, rescue groups, their history, current events being held, the latest medical research and links to participate in medical studies and so much more.
ASC hosts two venues each year that you might enjoy attending. The show in January is dedicated to all Flushing breeds, and is known as the "ASC Annual Flushing Spaniel Show." The show in July is dedicated to the Cocker Spaniel, and is hosted by a different Zone each year. These shows are not just about competing in conformation, you’ll see Cocker competing in obedience, agility, rally and field work as well.
Is a Cocker for you? Hopefully, everything that you’re reading here on OurAnimalsOurEarth is going to help you make that decision. There also a must read brochure to help answer your questions published on the The American Spaniel Club's site entitled, So You Want to Own A Cocker Spaniel that you can read and print.
Hereditary Disorders The Cocker Spaniel, just as any other breed of dogs, may suffer from hereditary defects that could range from minor to debilitating and life altering for the dog and guardians or even life threatening and ultimately fatal.
