Kelly's Philosophy of Breeding
My philosophy of breeding is to breed happy, healthy, sane Cocker Spaniels. I intend to accomplish this goal by choosing only the merriest Cockers as candidates for breeding and show, and by socializing and training these dogs to be wonderful members of my family. I show the dogs in conformation, to confirm that they are worthy representatives of the breed. I train the dogs in obedience, so that they are easy and pleasant to live with. When the dogs are old enough, I run various health tests to ensure that they have no genetic diseases that could be passed on to their puppies. Homes for puppies are carefully screened and chosen. Not just anybody gets a KLAD Cocker! I provide lifelong support to puppy owners, and will always take the dog back if necessary. As a breeder I also feel that it is important to support Cocker rescue, and to that end I contribute to several rescue groups.
